Fire Performers will wow the crowds with beautiful displays & amazing feats. 2 shows, 6:30 pm on the Whaling Museum Plaza, 18 Johhny Cake Hill & 7:30 pm in front of the Star Store, 715 Purchase St.. Meat, Seafood and More Raffle

A Meat, Seafood and More Raffle will be held on Saturday, February 11th at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Parish, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Over 50 winners.  A dinner of Lasagna with soup, salad & beverage is $8.50 and will be served at 5:00 PM, with the Meat Raffle at 7:00 PM.

Angel I Certification Class:
This 6 week program with Christine starts February 4th from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.  Learn how to connect with the Angels, Ascended Masters & Teachers. Who they are and what they do for us. Learn how to receive signs. Open up your intuition by removing blocks, receive a Angel Attunement and so much more. Participants will need to purchase Doreen Virtues Book "Archangels and Ascended Masters" $13.95 plus tax. Everyone who completes the 6 week program will receive a certificate. This class is $222 and payment plans can be arranged in advance. 

Reiki II Class
: Learn the next step into Reiki healing work. You will receive the symbols for Reiki, how to do Reiki distance healings, second attunement, and a certificate as a Reiki II Practitioner. Class will be held on Saturday, February 11th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Cost is $250. Must have taken Reiki I and show certificate if not taken with Christine.

Gentle Morning Yoga:
Every Sunday Morning from 8:30 am - 9:45 am. This class is designed for the beginner as well as the experienced yoga student.  Focus is on the breath and mindfulness while engaged in the practice. Call Randi at 774-473-2142 to hold your spot.

Vinyasa Yoga:
Held Every Tuesday 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, Walk ins welcome $12.  All Levels. A flowing class with emphasis on alignment, breathing and the foundational tools of a solid yoga practice. This class is designed to stretch, strengthen and align the body while leading to a blissful relaxation.

Spiritual Counseling Group with Christine & Lorianne:
This is a FREE group session, held every other Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, donations will be accepted. Open to everyone. No registration needed. Upcoming groups: Jan 11th & 25th

Zumba Classes: Held every Sunday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm and Thursday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin music and easy-to-follow dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms and resistance training. Beginners and experienced welcome! Cost $8.00 per class. Suites and Sweets

Join the Tri-County Symphonic Band on Sunday, February 5th at 3:00 pm for their latest performance called "Suites & Sweets" at the Gilbert D. Bristol Auditorium, Old Rochester Regional High School, 135 Marion Rd., Mattapoisett.

Former Music Director Daniel Lasdow will conduct a concert of suites and other pieces for concert band.  Composer Stephen Wheeler's commissioned piece "For Those Without a Voice" will receive its world premiere.  Current Music Director and euphonium player Philip Sanborn will be the featured soloist.

Climate Change Presentations & Demonstrations at the Buzzards Bay Coalition

NEW BEDFORD

On Thursday, February 9th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, during AHA! New Bedford's Carnevale Celebration, the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front St. New Bedford will be hosting a night of educational demonstrations and presentations on climate change for Aha Night in New Bedford. Join them at 5:30 pm for a kid-friendly and interactive demonstration vividly showing the impacts of climate change on ocean circulation by Dr. Jeff Schell, Chief Scientist and member of the oceanography faculty at Sea Education Association in Woods Hole. Followed by a climate change talk at 6:30 pm by John Bullard, president of Sea Education Association, as he presents "Global Warming:  What's going on here?  What do I do about it?"

Story Hour Volunteers Needed

NEW BEDFORD

Do you love to see youngsters’ eyes light up when they have fun? Do you enjoy doing hands-on crafts with children? Could you spare an hour or two each week? If so, then New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, 33 William St., New Bedford is looking for you.

New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park’s weekly Friday morning story hour at 10:00 am, beginning on January 6 with acclaimed storyteller Karen Chace, Whales, Tales & Sails, is seeking volunteers to assist with craft activities and make our families, including our youngest visitors, feel welcome. Join a cadre of friendly and dedicated volunteers who help make this National Park a great place to visit!

We especially welcome educators, residents of many of the area’s diverse communities, and those seeking to re-enter the work force and increase their skill sets. Time commitment and work schedule varies. Uniform and training are provided. Help 3,000 young volunteers stay warm this winter!

Gifts to Give need your help. Their student volunteers work year-round through all kinds of weather. Winter is here and they need to heat the mill. During the winter months more than 3,000 young volunteers will spend over 11,000 hours sorting, cleaning, organizing and packaging thousands of gently-used items for children who need them. Please consider giving a gift of cash to help us support the commitment of our volunteer work force.

They are a 501c3 tax-exempt organization whose mission is to create a caring community where we can easily share our gifts to ensure children are connected with what they need.
